Tuition fees for vocational education and training
If you begin your studies after 1 August 2026 and you are a citizen of a country outside the EU or EEA, you may be required to pay an annual tuition fee for vocational education.
For individuals already living in Finland, the determining factor is the grounds which their residence permit has been granted.
The first academic year fee must be paid in full before the start of studies. The fee will only be refunded if the selected student is unable to start studies because he or she is not granted a residence permit.
- you are moving to Finland for the purpose of studying
- you have been granted a residence permit (B or A) on the basis of studies
- your first residence permit in Finland was granted on the basis of studies
- you have received your residence permit as a family member of a student.
- you are subject to compulsory education
- you hold a permanent residence permit (P)
- you have a continuous residence permit (A), other than one granted for studies
- you receive international or temporary protection
- you are an exchange student
- you are an apprenticeship student and you have an employee residence permit
- you hold an EU Blue Card or an EU long-term resident’s residence permit
- you are a citizen of EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland.
The annual tuition fee does not include free meals, accommodation in a dormitory, or study materials. However, you are entitled to student welfare services as well as learning support and special support.
The education provider (Careeria) determines the amount of the annual tuition fee. Degree-specific prices will be confirmed later.
